Building Project

Drikung Kyobpa Choling (Tibetan Meditation Center in Escondido)

In 1996 Drupon Samten Rinpoche found this special hilltop property, which met all the criteria conducive for meditation and conveniently located in the heart of Escondido. Ani Konchok Chodron (Beth Howie) a long time disciple and Buddhist nun, since 1995, purchased the property. Meditations and teachings have been held at their home for the last 10 years. In order to establish a long-term facility for meditation and retreat for generations to come, and to meet all the city’s requirements, the new building project was taken up. The land has been donated for the new meditation center buildings and the project has been moving forward based on the kind and generous donations of our small community. Many people have offered to help with the labor for the building, including the local Tibetans. This project is the manifestation of many years of hard work with the blessings of the great lineage lamas to see it come to fruition. We now need your help to make this dream come true and to provide lasting benefit to the world.
